A background in Black studies provides aÌýflexible and interdisciplinary skill set for any career path requiring critical thinking, research and writing,Ìýperspective-taking, leadership in matters of diversity, communication and collaboration. Students of Black studies have entered such fields as education, business,Ìýlaw,Ìýhealthcare, nonprofits, public history, the arts and journalism.
Specifics
The Minor in Black Studies is a perfect complement to any major at the University of Tampa.
- 20 total credit hours
- One to two courses in each of these designated criteria areas: Global Perspectives, Social Science and the Law, Black Arts and Cultures
Students can choose from over a dozen possibilities in fields including art, literature, communication, history, philosophy, psychology and sociology.
