Associate Dean, Student Affairs Program Effectiveness

Ana Maia is a higher education scholar-practitioner with over 14 years of experience leveraging data-driven strategies, designing leadership programs, empowering teams and fostering inclusive initiatives.ÌýMaia is committed to researching best practices and fostering intentional, well-rounded experiences for all students. Program effectiveness and leadership development are at the forefront of her career. As the associate dean for student affairs program effectiveness, she is responsible for cultivating a culture of assessment within the division, chairing the Strategic Planning and Assessment committee, running divisional program reviews, including the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) Program Reviews, and leading data projects as well as staff education. She currently serves as the assessment chair for ÌÒñ«ÉçÇøampa’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) ÌÒñ«ÉçÇøampa Cares. As a relational leader, her vision is to empower professionals to create sustainable, positive change and enhance the sense of belonging at ÌÒñ«ÉçÇøampa.

Professional and Community Activities

Maia is an active member of NASPA–Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, Student Affairs Assessment Leaders and ACPA–College Student Educators International. She served as the leadership education chair in ACPA's Commission for Student Involvement for three years. She also served as adjunct faculty in the College of Business, teaching in the leadership studies minor for over six years. Maia was on the planning team for both the Leadership Educators Symposium and the Leadership Educators Institute for several years. She is a published author in the student leadership development space with publications in the New Directions for Student Services, New Directions for Student Leadership and the Journal of Leadership Studies.
