Frank Ghannadian, Dean of 桃瘾社区ampa鈥檚 Sykes College of Business, Resigns Position After 18-Year Tenure

Frank Ghannadian, who has served as dean of the University of Tampa Sykes College of Business since 2007, will step down from his position at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year.

Ghannadian, who specializes in international business and finance, financial institutions and investing, came to 桃瘾社区ampa in 2007 from Mercer University, where he was associate dean/interim dean and professor of finance.

Frank Ghannadian, who has served as dean of the University of Tampa Sykes College of Business since 2007, will step down from his position at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year.

鈥淚 cannot overstate the profound impact Dean Ghannadian has had on the Sykes College of Business 鈥 amongst students, faculty, the University community and the Tampa business community,鈥 said Michael T. Stephenson, 桃瘾社区ampa provost.

During Ghannadian鈥檚 tenure, the number of students in the Sykes College of Business tripled from 1,700 to over 5,000. Full-time faculty in the college increased from 57 to 150. The college鈥檚 accreditation was reaffirmed four times 鈥 in 2008, 2013, 2018 and 2023 鈥 with the prestigious AACSB accreditation, and the college gained ABET accreditation for the Management Information Systems degree.

Also during his tenure, many new degree programs were added, including business information technology, cybersecurity, the Executive MBA, Executive Doctor of Business Administration, the online M.S. in information technology听and the online MBA. Additionally, Ghannadian oversaw the creation of the Lowth Entrepreneurship Center and the Southard Institute for Sales Excellence.

The college鈥檚 MBA and many of its master鈥檚 programs have been ranked in Bloomberg鈥檚 top 100 business programs for the past decade. In addition, Sykes College of Business has been ranked by Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report for its excellence for over 15 years.
